Arriving to Morgantown
KairosCamp participants’ travel will be paid for through the NEH grant, to include flights into the Pittsburgh airport and shuttle accommodations to Morgantown, or reimbursement of personal vehicle expenses up to $500. Staff will arrange for transportation in April of 2018.
If you are flying into the Pittsburgh airport, a shuttle driver from Wheeling Limo service will greet you at the bottom of the escalator near baggage claim, holding a sign with your name. If there are any problems with your limo service, contact their help line at (304) 232-1175.
Parking is available at the Hotel Morgan for personal vehicles. No parking is available on the WVU campus for personal vehicles, but there are nearby parking garages by the hour (no overnight parking allowed).
From I-79 South (Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland)
From I-79 North (Kentucky & Southwest)
From I-68 West (Virginia, North Carolina, & Southeast)
Participants will stay in the Hotel Morgan, which is easy walking distance to the Downtown Library where all workshop sessions, including lunch, will be held. Lodging will begin the Sunday prior to the workshop until the Saturday afterwards, depending on flight times. KCamp staff will arrange this lodging for you in April.
A few things to consider when packing:
- Morgantown is built into the mountains, and parts of it are fairly hilly so good walking shoes are highly recommended. KairosCamp also offers a shuttle service for those with limited mobility. Contact Cheryl for more details.
- Morgantown is also a rain-forest climate. It can rain unexpectedly and be hot and humid or very cool at night, so bring layers.
